Step Up — Join the Board. This Is Your Responsibility.
You chose to purchase a home in this deed-restricted neighborhood governed by an HOA. That choice comes with legal and financial responsibilities — not just for the Board, but for every homeowner. Do not assume someone else will take care of it. If no one steps up, everyone pays the price.
Without a functioning Board:
The HOA cannot pay property taxes on the common park area — you may not be able to sell your home.
The park, the areas behind the fences along Northshore Blvd and Broadway Blvd, and the Nicklaus Street median will not be maintained.
Required federal tax forms and State of Texas public information filings will not be submitted — resulting in fines and penalties.
HOA dues will not be collected, and insurance will lapse.
The City or State could place liens on all properties due to violations of the Texas Property Code (Chapter 209) — meaning fines and restrictions on property sales.
This is not a scare tactic — these are legal realities. If no one serves, a court-appointed receiver will have to step in at a much higher cost to everyone.
You must act. Contact a current Board member today and volunteer to serve — even for a single term. If you value your property and this community, this is not optional.
Thank you.
